Students with a passion for Music, Theater, Art or Design are encouraged to join the CSVPA Arts Academy at CATS Boston. Through the Academy, students have the opportunity to build a portfolio of high-quality work in preparation for applications to art school, university or college.

By successfully completing the CSVPA Arts Academy, students will receive an award that improves their university and college applications and will be well-prepared for future success as a professional artist.

Ages:

15+

Grades:

10, 11 or 12

1 year minimum

The Academy

Students choose and rotate through creative electives to explore different artistic disciplines while developing their skills set. At CATS Boston, we offer 19 electives focusing on everything from Fashion Design, Sculpture and Illustration to Musical Theater, Acting for Stage and Screen and in a variety of instruments.

To complete the CSVPA Arts Academy, you must take part in a variety of creative electives, combined with event participation and a project presentation. Once accomplished, you will receive an award that improves your university and college applications, and secures you a guaranteed place at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts (CSVPA), in England.

Three Steps To Successfully Completing The CSVPA Arts Academy

  • Fine Art and Printmaking
  • Fashion Design

Create and present a project

Use skills developed in your electives to complete a capstone project

All projects will be presented to the school in the students senior year. Potential student projects could include:

  • Creating a fashion line
  • One person art show
Create and present a project
Participate in an event

Participate annually in local and school events

Previous events students have participated in include:

  • Fashion shows
  • Local art exhibitions and competitions
  • Design opportunities

Receive your accredited certificate and guaranteed place

On successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certification accredited by Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts and a guaranteed place on one of their undergraduate degrees
