Ivy League Preparation Program

The course will combine lessons, lectures, workshops and visits to enable students to thoroughly prepare their U.S college applications and aim for the Ivy League. If you are looking to understand the exciting variety of undergraduate options available at the top universities and colleges in the United States, this program is the one for you. Students will learn the strategies needed to get a competitive score for TOEFL and SAT, develop their English language abilities and learn how to optimize their college applications to give them the edge needed to obtain admission to a top university. *18 year old students are only accepted as part of a group where all students are returning to secondary education in September 2025. 18 year olds must follow all school rules as minors. Separate rules apply regarding lessons and activities, please enquire.

    Enjoy a variety of onsite activities including sports, arts and team games. Our activities allow students to use the English they have learnt and make international friends.

    Excursions

    Excursions allow students to really get to know the USA. In Boston, students will find historic and cultural information through guided walking tours and visits to museums and other places of interest.

Program Structure

The course will combine lessons, lectures, workshops and visits to enable students to thoroughly  
prepare their U.S college applications and aim for the Ivy League. Lessons will develop each of  
the four English language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing in the context of the TOEFL exam. Opportunities to develop knowledge of vocabulary and grammar will also be incorporated.  

There will be a focus on the SAT exam and students will have the opportunity to analyse typical questions and practise active listening and essay writing skills. Lectures will cover areas to support students in choosing the correct university path including financial planning and scholarships. Workshops are designed to help participants develop their confidence and personal skills and take a targeted approached to completing applications. The programme will also include visits to Harvard University and the Historic Freedom Trail. 

Through our Ivy League Preparation Program you will:

  • Learn the strategies needed to get a competitive score for TOEFL and SAT. 
  • Practice your English language abilities to compete with native applicants to top US universities. 
  • Learn how to optimize your application including resume building and essay writing skills. 
  • Speak directly with university admissions counsellors. 
  • Develop lifelong relationships with people from all over the world. 
  • Learn about life at a university, and what it takes to be successful on campus.

Participants will receive a certificate awarded for the successful completion of the course.

Activities & Excursions

Students on this course will enjoy one full day excursion per week. Destinations may include Boston, Rhode Island and Canobie Lake Park. Evening activities are varied and fun and may include discos, talent shows and international evenings.
