Living at CATS Academy Boston

Each year we celebrate the arrival of students from the United States and countries all over the world who come to experience an American education while improving their English and learning about other cultures. It is our priority to ensure that our students are safe and happy in our school.

At CATS Academy Boston, our residential community is designed to help students feel at home from the moment they arrive. For younger students, our dedicated Residential Life team provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where they receive personalised care, encouragement, and guidance as they take their first steps towards living independently.

As students grow in confidence and maturity, they enjoy an experience that closely mirrors life on a university campus. With the perfect balance of independence, support, and personal responsibility, older students develop the skills, resilience, and self-confidence needed to thrive at university and beyond. Throughout their journey, our Residential Life team remains on hand to provide guidance, mentorship, and a strong sense of community.

Why Board At CATS Academy Boston

Dorm Parents
Our Dorm Parents live in the five residences with the students and will provide the support and nurturing needed to thrive. They provide a personalized program that enhances each student’s living experience and promotes a sense of “home”. Through a variety of evening activities and events, students are brought together to create meaningful connections, enjoy new experiences, and foster a vibrant and supportive residential community.

The Dorm Parents care for, guide, and introduce students to the responsibilities of independent living. They help students to succeed at CATS Academy Boston, building community, learning about other cultures, developing a global perspective, exploring ethics, and making informed choices.

Enjoy Your Free Time
Find space to relax and socialize in one of the dorms’ student lounges, play volleyball or basketball in the spacious gym or frisbee and football on the athletic fields outside the main building. Students can even go further afield as we are located just 10 minutes away from a major local shopping mall, and 10 miles to local beaches and the historic heart of downtown Boston.

Evenings On Campus
We treat our students as young people, not children, and the goal is for them to be a self-directed, independent learner. Students will spend a minimum of two hours each evening preparing for your classes. Formal study hours in the dorms must be observed from Sunday through Thursday evenings. Students who have earned a place on the Honor Roll are exempt from evening study and may keep their dorm rooms closed and observe quiet hours.

CATS Academy Boston Dining
At CATS Academy Boston, we serve culturally diverse menus featuring traditional favorites, ethnic dishes and international flavors. Chefs and dietitians offer nutrition education programs and wellness events throughout the year to ensure you stay fit and healthy. They also accommodate special dietary needs in a personalized, sensitive manner.

Leaving The Campus
Students have the opportunity to explore further afield. If you wish to leave the campus overnight or leave the Boston area, you can request an exeat from the Attendance Coordinator – this will allow you to explore other parts of the U.S.

Weekend Excursions

The Dorm Parents and Residential Life Team organize exciting and varied weekend trips and excursions for those students living in the dorms. These trips provide the ideal opportunity for students to visit new places, enjoy new experiences, and have fun with their friends, while supporting their learning and development as young people.
