I am so excited to be a part of CATS Academy Boston’s Residential Life Team and can’t wait to meet all of the amazing students who will be joining us in the dorms this upcoming school year.
Providing students with the tools to thrive has been my top priority since working in education. As someone who has attended overnight camps up until adulthood, I understand the overwhelming feelings that can come with adjusting to a new environment. My goal as a Dorm Parent is to serve as a resource for my residents through a student-centered, holistic residential community that builds independence, cultural empathy, creativity, and emotional wellbeing.
I have worked with students for a significant part of my life. My most recent experience working in Resident Life was as a Resident Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. One of my main obligations was to support new arriving freshmen in adjusting to campus life.
When it comes to creativity, I’m all in! I love any type of creative medium, including the arts; whether it be sculpting, acting, music creation, or anything that encourages originality, I will never say no to trying something new, meaning there will be a lot of arts and crafts nights in Wheatley’s future. Lately, my art has focused on themes of self-discovery, and embarrassing your inner child, with the goal of storytelling to help others reflect on their own experiences. I believe that art is a powerful way to explore yourself and your interests.
